High level Planning

Initially only following members were confirmed that they will come :-

Abhijit (Merryl Linch)
Krish (Atos Origin)
Omkar (Persistent Systems Ltd)
Swapnil (Tech Mahindra)
Sandesh (Infinicity)
Yogesh (Patni)

But as usual, we were hungry and we wanted more people to come ...especially Yogesh! In fact he had a very good reason for

inviting more people - to reduce per head contribution for the picnic. So our hunt started for few more members. We tried : -

GauravP (Financial Technologies)
GauravG (TCS)
SachinK (Mphasis)
Puneet Swarup (TCS)
DiptirMay Raut (TCS)

Some of them gave us false hopes while some of them plain said no. Finally, after much discussion and debate we all settled down with only 5 people, that is Me, Abhi, Sandesh, Yogesh and Swapnil. Swapnil even agreed to bring his Maruti 800 for the trip as 5 of us could be accomodated in his car. But @ the last moment, Krish expressed his desire to come to our trip. And now we were 6. Then what ? We had to exchange another couple of 100 mails to decide now what to do? Finally it was decided, that we will book a QUALIS from MUMBAI that will pick up friends from Mumbai (i.e., Abhi, Yogi, Sandy) and then come to Pune.

And then from Pune all the 6 members will go to picnic. In this meantime, We were confused as to where we should go for picnic? Sandy gave the excellent idea of DAMAN beach. This idea was partially welcomed. We then decided to go to Diveagar, Srivardhan and Harihareshwar. I started my RnD and investigation on accomodation @ these places. We made few calls @ hotels and lodges. After getting few contact numbers, i passed on the task of booking to Yogi who is our best bargainer in the group. Soon another 500 odd mails were exchanged just to decide if the location was right, or affordable ? Funny right ? But in the meantime, some guys started saying they will come. Others started saying they will not.

It was total chaos and confusion. I started getting angry with people, more specifically Swapnil. But later things got resolved. I made one excel sheet which was never used by any one.
The excel sheet had everything. Route, Financial transaction records, estimates, food preferences etc.,
